My name is Sotirios V.Vlastarakos. I am a dentist in Athens,Greece,in the area of Agios Dimitrios,near Daphne and Hymettus.
I graduated from the Dental School of the University of Athens in May 2006 with an overall grade of "Very Good."
This blog is a traslation of the greek version of the blog dentalopinions.gr.I found that google translate was not enough to translate some of my posts in english quite so good.Plus it gives me an opportunity to brush up on my English. For continuing learning purposes apart from attending dental sessions, participating in dental conferences and writing articles in dental journals,I am finishing up my MSc in Oral Biology,with a direction towards Aesthetic,Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry, in the University of Athens.
My areas of interest are cosmetic dentistry, with every one of the individual parameters that that intails ie Whitening procedures, aesthetic restorations, veneers, implants and Minimal Intervention(Minimally evasive) Dentistry with emphasis on prevention.
At the dentistry, apart from the afore mentioned,I deal with the whole therapeutic spectrum of dentistry, namely periodontal therapy, root canal treatments, fillings, prosthetic rehabilitation (Bridges-crowns), treatment of pediatric patients (ages 6 to 17 years) and problems of the stomatognathic system (treatment of bruxism-grinding or clenching of teeth) and providing dental care to people suffering from mental illness, especially depression and anxiety disorders.
I also do Aesthetic Orthodontic treatment for Adults, using white braces.The system I use is "6 Month Smiles Adult Orthodontic treatment", for which I have received a certification from England. More information for 6 Month Smiles system can be found at the following link.
